Hi 👋🏾 I’m Bryce…
Doctor of Physical Therapy, Board-Certified Geriatric Clinical Specialist, former family caregiver, and the voice behind this site.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet 🛜

I know the emotional rollercoaster that comes with caring for an aging or ill loved one — not just because I’ve seen it in my work, but because I’ve lived it.

My journey into caregiving began when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer during my freshman year of college. At first, there was fear. Then denial. Then the heartbreak of watching the disease return with a vengeance.

My grandmother and I shared caregiving responsibilities as my mother’s health declined — all while I was navigating the demands of physical therapy school. It was one of the hardest seasons of my life. I felt helpless, overwhelmed, and guilty — especially toward the end, when I just wanted her suffering to stop.

Years later, I found myself on the other side — working as a home health physical therapist. And what I saw over and over again was that so many family caregivers were quietly drowning.

After my visits with their loved ones, they’d walk me to my car just to vent — their voices low, their shoulders heavy. I saw fear, frustration, and exhaustion in their eyes.

Many of them were running on fumes, uncertain of what to do next, and painfully aware of how much they didn’t know.

They weren’t just physically drained — they were mentally and emotionally spent.

That’s why I created this space.

This site & newsletter, The Meta Caregiver are for the caregiver who feels invisible.

For the one holding everything together, but silently falling apart.

For the one who didn’t sign up for this, but refuses to walk away.

Here, I combine over 25 years of clinical experience with the empathy that only comes from having lived it.I share insights, resources, and hard-earned lessons that will help you not only show up for your loved one, but also (MORE IMPORTANTLY) for yourself.

Because you can’t pour from an empty cup.

You deserve guidance. You deserve support. And you deserve to be seen.

My goal is for you to leave this site feeling less alone and more equipped — like someone finally handed you a map and a flashlight in the dark.

If you’re new here, I recommend starting by subscribing to The Meta Caregiver, where I share weekly insights, resources, and real talk to help you navigate the road ahead.

You don’t have to do this alone anymore.
